To build good relationships and to interact with your clients, customers and colleagues, all you need to have is business etiquettes. These people are very important as they have a big hand in your success or failure. Presenting yourself favorably to maximize your business potential is the main motto of business meetings. Poor etiquette in business meetings can have negative effects.

Your chances of success can be automatically enhanced by improving your business meeting etiquette. Good business meeting etiquettes demonstrates positive results such as trust, comfort, attentiveness and clear communication. Business meeting etiquettes are needed for both formal and informal business meetings.

Informal meetings are lenient and they may not be conducted in the office or meeting room. But for good business etiquette it is required to be conducted in office. The person calling the meeting should be the senior most and should have full knowledge about the cause of the meeting. The time, venue and agenda of the meeting should be decided by him. These aspects should be confirmed by everyone so that no inconvenience is caused. Everybody attending the meeting should have clear idea about the meeting. It is very important to be punctual in the meetings. Being punctual represents good etiquette. The business meetings should be short and effective. The action points, major decisions and proceedings of the meetings should be recorded.

Formal meetings include management meetings, departmental meetings, board meetings, and discussions. The business etiquettes for these can be a bit puzzling. These meetings have a set format. The person leading the meeting may always be the same person, the time, agendas or reports may be pre- circulated. You must be well prepared for the meetings. Your reports for the meetings must be handed at least three days before the meeting. Like a professional dress well and be punctual for the meeting. Remember to switch off your cell phones. Listen carefully to the discussions, do not interrupt anyone, be brief and to the point while keeping your point.

The above decorum’s of business meeting will be very helpful to have a successful and profitable business meeting.
